Yacht Consulting / Pre purchase advice
You have decided to buy a yacht and think you have finally found the right boat? Before you sign the purchase contract, you should find out about possible risks so that the planned investment gives you the pleasure you expect. As an independent consultant, we support you in the assessment of new and used yachts when buying a yacht.
Process of a purchase consultation
As part of the purchase advice, we first inspect the freely accessible and visible components of the boat above and below deck. Below deck, among other things, the floorboards and any cladding must be lifted or, depending on the construction, dismantled to allow access to neuralgic spots. Since e.g. We can show you how to do this. During the thorough review, we ask the seller a few “right” questions that arise during the course of the assessment. If, for example, the seacocks are still the first ones on a 30-year-old boat, this poses a significant safety risk. Many owners are not aware of this, as the seacocks are often difficult to access and are rarely moved. If, for example, the standing rigging of a sailing yacht is more than 15 years old, it is no longer or only partially insured. The seller’s statement that it still “looks good” is of no use to you as a buyer.
Now it’s a matter of having your wishes and maintenance or repair work carried out or doing it yourself, or transferring the boat. Here we can support you with my experience and our network so that you don’t have to pay any unnecessary “tuition”.
